The scene is set in a living room. There is a woman sitting on a couch watching television. There’s a beeping coming in as background noise and as the woman searches for the sound, she hears rustling at the front door followed by keys jingling. As she locates her phone, the source of the beeping, a young man walks into the house. He drops a bookbag onto the armchair next to the sofa after closing the front door, and takes a seat right next to her. So close in fact she has to shift to accommodate him and thus almost drops the phone she had in her hand while answering a text message.

Woman: Any particular reason you’re practically sitting on my lap, (Insert man’s name)?

Man: I’m just excited, sorry. But listen! So I’m taking this environmental awareness class right?

Woman: Yes, you were telling me that ear—

Man: (Interrupts her and continues speaking in a matter-of-fact tone) Well I’ve decided to take some more affirmative action and get a little hands-on for the class. I think it’ll help me focus in on what Mother Nature is all about.. get to know her a little better. What do you think??

Woman: (Stares at him incredulously ) And just how do you plan on developing this clearly loving relationship with your ecosystem, oh-he-who-suddenly-loves-the-planet?

Man: Okay, so it may be a little sudden, but my eyes have been opened! Earth is crying out for us, and we have to help!

Woman: Alright, save the theatrics..lay it on me. I know somehow I’m going to be affected by your new lifestyle changes. I always am. (Sighs)

Man: (Beaming proudly) Well, I was thinking we could change our water heater. There are these awesome solar powered water heaters that are definitely less harmful than that big old tank we have now!

Woman: That doesn’t sound like a very inexpensive project you want to take on there Robin Hood..

Man: That’s where you’re wrong. (Insert prices, facts, pros and a few cons for good measure if there is any at all.) So you see? This will be perfect!

Woman: (Sits pensively) I don’t know, (Insert Man’s name). You know I’m not comfortable with change..

Man: Think of how much we’ll be helping the environment! Come on, (Insert Woman’s name). We have to do our part..

Woman: Oh alright. I guess it’s time we give something back.

The man hugs her, takes the phone out of her hand, and begins dialing. Scene fades as he is calling a representative from the company asking them what they have to do to get started with one of their products.

Special thanks to the beautiful and talented ZEE for helping make this...please gimme any comments on how to change it and make it better.
